rules about being a good photographer: lesson #1

despite all the good and bad things that have happened this week, life moves on and there are plenty of deadlines to meet. i waited until the last minute to take pictures for my weekly photography assignment and learned a very valuable lesson--when you plan to take pictures at the dallas arboretum, or any place that has a cover charge for that matter, remember to charge your camera battery! as soon as i paid the entrance fee, i turned on my camera, took a couple of pictures and the battery light started blinking at me. i felt like an idiot and couldn't blame anyone else but myself. (note to self: buy a backup camera batter for days when your brain is not turned on) luckily, i managed to get some good pictures with what little battery life was left. i'm still kicking myself in the ass because i was only able to take pictures in one part of the arboretum. mario and i spent the rest of our visit walking around in the hot texas sun. we didn't stay too long, but plan to make another visit to the arboretum when the weather is a little more pleasant.
