treats for my valentines

it's cupid's time of the year again and although i'm not a huge fan of the holiday of love, i decided to use it as an excuse to bake something sweet for my two special people. both hearts are made of fondant covered butter pecan cake with cream cheese icing. on top of the heart shaped cake on the left are assorted flavor cakeballs dipped in chocolate, specially made for my number one man. my intention was to make it look like a heart shaped candy box based on an idea i got from one of my favorite web sites (mine doesn't look as good, but i think it will pass). and of course i didn't forget our little one...she gets a special heart too. happy valentine's day!
