isabelle's vocabulary is slowly expanding everyday and alas, she is finally able to say "mommy." her words of choice are still "daddy" and "doggie" but hearing her say mommy every now and then is like music to my ears.
some other skills she recently picked up include playing peek-a-boo (she covers her own eyes and scares us), hugging and kissing the doggies, bringing us a diaper, marching in place or in a circle, batting and squinting her eyes when we say mimi, throwing away trash, closing the door, giving and blowing kisses and waving bye. some of these skills she acquired quite some time ago, but the fact that she does these things as we tell her to shows she is becoming quite independent and comprehends a lot of what we say.

isn't it the greatest feeling to know the exact moment of when something clicks in her brain? it's like learning to do these things yourself for the first time all over again! you never knew how exciting it was to play peek-a-boo until your little girl does it on her own! AND she thinks it's even more fun than you thought it was when you were first playing it with her! -Vy
